Macro photograph: Post processing - Part 1

So here is a macro photograph of a white rose bud, in my garden

The above picture does confirm to certain rules, rule of thirds, has a leading line in the stem. Good.

However, it has a plant in the background. Although it's blurry.


So I did a couple of things in post processing of this macro photograph:

I opened this picture in a raw editing software and cropped it.

I also lowered the temperature of the photo


The same picture now looks like, the one below

The stem looks more natural, and the snaggy background plant has made way to a way cleaner background.


Remember: In macro photography bacground is very significant, but then every macro photograph could be different in it's own way. Clean background is one thing, but there could be other things going for it.
